Frequently
Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about XBTFX Islamic accounts and swap-free trading.
-
What is an Islamic (swap-free) account?
An Islamic account is a trading account that does not charge or pay swap interest on positions held overnight. It is structured to comply with Sharia principles that prohibit Riba (interest), allowing observant Muslim traders to participate in financial markets without compromising their faith.
-
Who can open an Islamic account at XBTFX?
Islamic accounts are intended exclusively for traders of Muslim faith who are required to comply with Sharia law. We require a declaration of intent during onboarding. Eligibility is reviewed on a case-by-case basis and XBTFX may decline or revoke Islamic terms where misuse is suspected.
-
Are Islamic account spreads the same as regular accounts?
No. Islamic accounts use Standard-style execution where trading costs are built into the spread, and Islamic spreads are wider than our regular Standard account spreads. The mark-up offsets the absence of overnight swaps. Full pricing detail is set out in the Islamic Account Terms (PDF) at https://data.xbtfx.com/XBTFX-Islamic-Accounts.pdf.
-
What base currency and platform do Islamic accounts use?
Islamic accounts on the XBTFX MT5 platform are denominated in Tether (USDT). You can fund the account using any of our supported crypto deposit methods and use the XBTFX exchange to convert into USDT. Symbols on Islamic accounts carry a "#" platform suffix to distinguish them from regular instruments.
-
What leverage do Islamic accounts get?
Islamic accounts use fixed leverage up to 500:1 — they do not use the dynamic leverage ladders available on Edge accounts. Metals are capped at 100:1 and major cryptocurrencies at 25:1. Account balances above $25,000 may be subject to further leverage restrictions; balances above $100,000 are capped at 100:1 and can be reduced to 50:1 on large net exposures.
-
Are there any restrictions on how I trade an Islamic account?
Yes. Long-term carry positions and any usage that amounts to swap avoidance are strictly prohibited. XBTFX reserves the right to convert the account back to standard terms, claw back swap-equivalent costs, or close the account where misuse is detected. Read the Islamic Account Terms (PDF) before applying.
